The Multicultural Center
A place of local activity, a second home to migrants and the local community in which anyone can find a suitable educational, cultural, informational or recreational offer. We exist to support the multicultural and civic integration of the inhabitants of Warsaw.
The Center is a friendly platform to exchange ideas, realize goals and to get acquainted with different cultures. Anyone has the opportunity to use the provided space in the Center and take part in the debates and conferences, view art exhibitions, film projections, learn the Polish language and receive legal or career advice.
The Multicultural Center is a project co-financed by the Urząd m. st. Warszawy (Municipal Bureau of the city of Warsaw). The concept of the Center was established during the forming of the „Program Rozwoju Kultury do 2020 roku”. The center was designated to serve as an HQ for Warsaw NGOs.
From May 2017, the hosts of the Center are the association Pro Humanum and the Foundation for Somalia, which implement the project with co-financing from the budget of the city of Warsaw.
Mission
The Multicultural Center’s mission is to help in the countering of the social marginalization of migrants and answering other crucial threats that a modern European metropolis might face. These threats stem from the unawareness of different cultures, points of view, customs and laws. We wish to make Warsaw the most friendly place for diverse cultures and different nationalities in Poland, the core of an intercultural dialog with a healthy civic society that fosters diversity and opposes discrimination.
Hosts
The Pro Humanum Association and the Foundation for Somalia have been operating the Center since 2017. Both organizations have rich experience in the fields of multiculturalism, equality and countering discrimination against all social groups, concerning the issues of migration and refuge.
